Meet Begum Erel – Head of Sales UK & Ireland

Starting a new role during a period of change takes courage, but as we’ll hear from Begum, it comes with opportunities too. We spoke with our new Head of Sales for the UK and Ireland, to find out a little bit more about her, what she’s enjoying about working for the company and what opportunities lie ahead.

What is your role and what does it entail?

I’m responsible for the sales of our Environmental Science products and services across the UK and Ireland. This spans across our pest and turf and amenity solutions – so you can expect to see me at trade shows for both!

Tell us about your career history and how you ended up working here?

I’m an MSc Chemical Engineer and after 14 years in the paints and coatings industry I decided to pursue my career here, where I can be part of an organisation that’s committed to fostering healthy environments where we live, work and play.

What is the most exciting aspect of your job?
I’m part of a culture where people have the passion to innovate and are empowered to drive and lead the change. This is a very exciting time for the company.

Here we have a vital role and responsibility to advance the health, hygiene and safety of people all over the world, which requires an agile, customer focused team, working together. This nimble and innovative approach is what excites me most about my job.

In addition to this, I’m also happy to see how well diversity and inclusion have been implemented across the organisation, which enhances open discussions- every idea is valuable.
What’s the greatest opportunity you see with the forthcoming divestment?

I believe this divestment will bring lots of energy and agility to advance towards our vision of healthy environments for everyone, everywhere. We will be well positioned to lead the market with driving change and be able to pivot quickly, responding to the unique needs of our customers and the market.
